Aurora City board participants seek to increase minimum wage to $20 an hour

Nine months after Denver became the first Colorado city to raise its minimum wage above the state level, a cadre of Aurora council members is looking to make that municipality the second — by setting the base wage employers in that city would have to pay at $20 an hour by 2027.

While Denver officials unanimously approved a three-tiered plan to raise the minimum wage for Colorado’s largest municipality to $15.87 by the start of 2022, there is less agreement in the state’s third-largest city.…
